In the winter : Alpine or off-track skiing : the ski lifts are located in Abries , 4 km away from the village. Whatever their level, everybody will be able to enjoy their favourite sport. On the summits, different downhill slopes are designed for skiers fond of either powder snow or wilderness skiing. It is possible to ski down right to the Chalet's door. Cross-country skiing : cross country tracks in the small valleys around. There are some marked tracks starting from Abries Ski touring : thanks to the depth of snow, the weather, and the extraordinary situation of Le Roux village, all the necessary conditions are met to satisfy even the most experienced hikers and allow them to ski touring up to 3000 meters summits or through pass, cross-mountain path or easy paths…. Dogsled, ski joering, snow-shoeing walks are other ways to discover our mountains and experience new feelings…. |

In the summer : Mountain hiking : Many marked tracks start from the Le Roux village and take people to various pass or cross-mountain path , in France or in Italy, up to 3000 high summits. The GR 58 offers both several days hiking or easy walks along mountain streams, through hill pasture or larch forest. A by-pass of the GR 58 links Le Roux with Les Fonts de Cervières to Abries or Aiguilles . High altitude climbing : Le Queyras is not recognized by mountain climbers as a high mountain climbing spot. However this region offers several climbing paths on some excellent roc (Gabbro). Among others, Le Pelvas (2929 m) and Le Bric Bouchet ” (2928 m), close to the Chalet give to climbers of all levels the opportunity to try a lot of paths. Then further down in the valley, Le Viso (3841) and its surroundings will satisfy high altitude climbers. The Guil gorges also have cliffs equipped for climbing and via ferrata. Mountain bike : marked paths Flora : besides the usual flora found in the Alpes, the Queyras region has a lot of quite rare species which make its flora one of the most beautiful in Europe thus of great interest for botanists. Animals : visitors might come across deers, chamois, woodchuck, ibex or mouflon sheep. Visitors can also go rafting, walking or horse riding and make their stay in the Queyras the most pleasant and unforgettable holiday of their life |
